An iPad works great for sketching ideas, quick wireframes, and brainstorming with tools like Procreate or Figma mobile. But for full workflows, especially responsive layouts and documentation, a laptop is still more practical due to processing and multitasking capabilities.

You can design on an iPad, but limitations in version control, plugin support, and keyboard shortcuts may slow you down. It’s best as a secondary device for creative exploration rather than a full replacement for desktop-level design work.
