UI/UX and web design overlap, but they aren’t the same. Web design focuses more on layout and visuals of websites, while UX involves research, user flows, and building experiences that may include websites, apps, and software beyond browsers.

A web designer may focus mostly on aesthetics and front-end behavior. A UI/UX designer aims to understand user needs, solve problems, and optimize interaction patterns. The scope of UX is much broader.
